Vice Verba 4.4.7

Vice Verba is a tool designed to assist Latin students in mastering verb forms. The game requires players to analyze verbs and generate forms in order to acquire togas. Upon collecting a sufficient number of togas, an ‘imago’ representing a notable deceased Roman figure becomes accessible. Unlocking all twelve ‘imagines’ reveals detailed statistics once the images are flipped over.

Players have the option to personalize their gaming experience by selecting tenses, voices, moods, and the presence or absence of macrons. The game adjusts its level of difficulty in tandem with the player’s progress and skill enhancement.

Vice Verba draws inspiration from the ‘Hoplite Challenge Cup,’ an analog game conceived by Drs. Hardy Hansen and Gerald Quinn for the rigorous Greek program at CUNY.
